Plant Health Care Programs

Plant Care from Nature's Ally

Basic Program

A Basic Program allows you to protect your landscape investment against common insects over a large variety of plant material.  Contact your Nature's Ally Certified Arborist to design the proper customized landscape management program for your property.

Organic Program

Organic Plant Health Care Programs are becoming popular due to the concerns for our environment and families. Nature's Ally has designed a fully Organic Program that protects your landscape investment, while giving you the piece of mind that you are doing the right thing.  Going organic takes a commitment of several treatments a year for the program to be successful.  Contact your Nature's Ally Certified Arborist to discuss your concerns and design a customized program to fit your needs.

Enhanced - PHC Patrol Program

A PHC Patrol Program is an environmental, sensible way to protect your landscape investment.  A highly trained technician will scout your landscape at carefully timed intervals during the growing season.  During each scout, the technician will inspect your landscape for insect damage, fungus activity, and environmental conditions.  Your technician will monitor these conditions and treat the affected plant material when needed.  At the end of each scout, your technician will leave a detailed report describing conditions throughout your landscape and what actions were taken to correct these issues.  Contact your Nature's Ally Arborist to discuss this industry leading program.

Specialty Treatments

Specialty Treatments are designed to target specific insects and disease issues while addressing customer concerns. Specialty treatments can be implamented alone to combat infestations or, for maximum effectiveness, in combination with a Nature's Ally Plant Health Care Program.

Disease Treatments

All trees and shrubs are prone to disease under certain environmental conditions.  Disease can be simply cosmetic or more sereve causing plant disfigurement and death.  The majority of foliar diseases can be treated and many are caused by fungi in the wet conditions of spring.  Proper disease identification and precise timing of treatments are key to successful control.  Our treatments provide a protective barrier in the leaf or needle that prevents germination and growth of disease-causing spores.  Contact your Nature's Ally Certified Arborist to design a customized program based on your specific disease issues and species on your property.

Tick and Mosquito Treatments

Child and dog playing in lawn

A Tick Program helps to control the tick population on your property and reduces the risk of Lyme Disease for your family and pets.  Surprisingly, the main carrier of the deer tick is mice, not deer.  Trying to manage the outdoor mice population on your property is futile, but we have options to manage the tick population on the mice.

Mosquitoes can be a real nuisance but have been found to be a growing health concern over recent years.  Mosquitoes act as vectors for many disease-causing viruses and parasites.  They can transmit diseases from person to person or animal to animal.  The West Nile Virus has been a growing concern with more and more cases reported each year in the United States.  This virus even causes several deaths each year with the first reported death in New Jersey in 2010.

We offer both Organic and Traditional treatment options for these disease harboring insects.  Contact your Nature's Ally Certified Arborist to discuss your tick and mosquito control options.

Deer Repellents

Deer Repellents are taste deterrents applied to plants that are commonly eaten by deer.  This allows you to then plant what you want and enjoy your flowering plants longer.  The key to success is multiple applications while changing products so the deer do not acquire the odor or taste.  Contact your Nature's Ally Certified Arborist to determine the deer pressure and the proper approach for your property.

Healthy plant life

Winter Protection

Winter Antidesiccants

Antidesiccants minimize moisture loss during the winter.  A sign of winter burn is a browning along leaf tips and outer margins during the harsh winter months. Antidesiccants work by forming a thin, transparent layer on the plant surface. This creates a barrier over the plant surface while holding in plant moisture and slowing its outward movement.  This treatment can also be very important for newly planted shrubs and plants under drought stress.  Contact your Nature's Ally Certified Arborist to design a treatment schedule based on concerns and species on your property.

Nutrient Treatments

Deep Root Fertilization

Deep Root Fertilization is a process that injects nutrients directly into the tree or shrub's root zone.  This ensures that the target is getting the needed nutrients.  We are able to customize the blend based on season, species, nutrient deficiencies, and desired results.  There are also many organic and natural options to improve plant health, vigor, and soil structure.

Deep Root Fertilization is not only used for small trees and shrubs, but it is extremely important for mature trees.  To learn more, refer to the Tree Care Section.

Contact your Nature's Ally Certified Arborist to design a customized nutrient program for your landscape needs.

Things to Know

Insect Control

Some insects can cause significant damage to shrubs and trees.  Insects can defoliate plants, retard growth, carry disease, and even cause death. But remember, not all insects are bad.  Beneficial insects are essential to the ecosystem. They help with pollination and act as predators to more harmful insects.  Therefore, killing all insects without regard to their species and niche in the ecosystem, can be detrimental to plant health.  Contact your Nature's Ally Certified Arborist to identify your insect issues and discuss traditional, organic, and non-toxic treatment options.
